Replacement Parts Sought for 5 yr old PA-II Classic

Our venerable PA-II unit has died in our coastal zone, but I’d like to try to give it a second life, if possible.

Symptoms:

  • Red LED on; 3.3 v present on control board; board looks clean
  • no WiFi present
  • one fan spinning - other spins 0.5 rotation, then stops
  • no serial port connection when using Utility … I added the drivers … PC not detecting the PA-II port

The MAC address is : xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx + Order: PAxxxxx

Would you concur with a likely board & sensor failure?
If parts available, can you please advise on pricing. Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for letting us know! Just for clarity, I omitted the device ID and order number you provided in your post since this is a public forum.

I’ve pulled up your sensor, and I do see that it’s currently offline as well. If you’re not seeing a serial port connection from the device in the Utility, I’d suggest ensuring that you have a USB cable capable of data transfer, as opposed to just charging, especially if there’s a red LED indicating power.

If checking the cable and drivers has been unsuccessful, and that red LED is consistently stable, we could take a look at the sensor or provide a quote on replacement parts.

Please reach out to us at contact@purpleair.com referencing this community post, and we’ll share some information to get things moving for you. Thank you!
