Filtrete Android App keeps loosing connection with PurpleAir air quality monitor

I have a new PurpleAir Zen that is connected to my WiFi and is on the PurpleAir map. When I add it to the Filtrete app, it stays Green for 5 - 10 minutes and then the Filtrete app turns it gray and erroneously reports it offline.

I have tried power cycling to reboot the device. I have deleted and re-added the device to the app a few times. The Filtrete app reports a successful connection and then drops it 5-10 minutes later and claims that my sensor is offline.

PurpleAir customer support verified that my sensor is online and working normally.

The PurpleAir tech was at first not familiar with the Filtrete app. He loaded the app on his phone and added his sensor and observed EXACTLY the same problem.

Is anyone here using the 3M Filtrete app? If so, did you experience this problem?

I might add that my phone is a Google Pixel 7a running the latest build of Android 15.

Hi Frank,

Good talking to you on the phone yesterday. I’ve reached out to their support, but have yet to hear anything. For Others: If you are experiencing the same issue, we recommend you reach out to their support as well.

Hi Kieran,

Good news! I called 800-388-3458 Option 3 and spoke with Zaida of customer app support for 3M Filtrete.

Zaida contacted his engineering staff and they did a restart of the process that runs their API and in less than 2 hours the problem was solved.

Thank you too for your time yesterday.

Regards,

Frank
