Do I need to take down my sensor in winter to avoid any potential damage from Freeze-thaw cycles?

Hi @LisaNST
PurpleAir is not generally concerned about sensor functionality during the winter. With a constant connection to power, the devices should not be impacted as long as temperatures do not drop in a range below -40 degrees Celsius. We have sensors that run year-round in Alaska, and have observed them function to that range.
Now, we cannot make any assurances if the sensor is mounted in an area that is susceptible to heavy rain, sleet, or snow. We recommend placing a sensor somewhere where it is protected, such as under an awning.

thanks! It’s under a broad eve and very protected, so we’ll try it outside this winter.
