IP Address of Flex

Posting here because I don’t see a category for ‘networking’.

I’m wondering if there is any way to set a static IP address for the PurpleAir Flex on my network (10.0.1.x)?

Otherwise, is there any way to programmatically determine the IP address of my PurpleAir Flex?

I know I can connect to my router and search for it there (looking through a list of 80 devices for something that self-identifies as PURPLEAIR-XXXX), but is there any way to programatically do that, given that the PurpleAir Cloud knows my device configuration?

Thanks,

Dave

Many routers have the ability to assign a static IP address to a device over DHCP. You bind the MAC address of the device to the desired IP address so when it starts up, it gets the IP you want. Because PurpleAir puts the device id all over the PurpleAir Zen packaging, I had my firewall configured with this before I even turned it on.

I have a Netgear Orbi mesh wifi and have gone into its admin web page and setup IP reservations for the two PurpleAir sensors I have. I just had to find them in the IP table and add them - no need to pick a new IP, I just created a reservation from whatever they had been previously assigned via DHCP. In fact I’ve done this for all my smart devices that can be managed by web sessions to avoid having find their new IPs when they re DHCP after I reboot my Orbi.
