Hi everyone,
I’d like to propose a feature that would automatically upload data stored on the SD card when network connectivity is restored after an interruption. This would ensure continuous data collection without requiring manual retrieval during temporary connection losses—a benefit for both wireless and wired sensors.
I’m aware of previous discussions (this post in particular) highlighting the challenge of verifying data integrity (e.g., through cryptographic checks), but I hope this feature won’t be abandoned solely due to those difficulties.
This feature would be very valuable and crucial for anyone relying on uninterrupted sensor data, and it could attract users who currently avoid PurpleAir due to this limitation. Moreover, for those managing multiple sensors—especially in remote or challenging environments—the ability to automatically upload cached data would really streamline the process and reduce manual maintenance. I’d love to hear your thoughts or any technical insights on its feasibility.
Thanks,
Marco
