The New PurpleAir Website

Hello PurpleAir community! We recently pushed out a big update to our platforms, and we’d like to provide a brief overview of what’s new, as well as some clarification regarding new and existing systems. You can also take a look at our blog: The New PurpleAir Website and Map: What Changed and Why.

My Sensors and Google Login

When logged in, you can now click your profile icon at the top of the page and navigate to “My Sensors.” This feature shows a list of your sensors, lets you view information about those sensors, and provides quick access to them on the map. You can also click on “details” for your sensor to apply downgrades to channels with erroneous data. We plan to add more sensor management features here in the future.

Note that the “My Sensors” feature is available by logging in with a Google or Google-associated email that your sensor’s “owner’s email” is set to. You are not required to log in with Google to view your sensor data on the map.

Logging in with a Google account also makes it easier to see privately registered sensors on the map. For more information on this, we recommend taking a look at our article on viewing private data.

Map Preview

While not yet fully released, we’ve made a preview version of the new map available, and we’d love to hear any feedback you have on it! You can take a look here.

Note that our update may have erased some saved settings for our current map. If you’re seeing that your map isn’t going back to your saved location, you can resolve this by accepting cookies by clicking on “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of the page and ensuring “Site Preferences” is accepted.

Web Utility Tool

We’ve also put out a web-based version of our Utility tool, which you can find here. This tool allows you to see data coming directly from your sensor, use our SD Data Tool, and more. We recommend taking a look at our article discussing this tool if you have a need for it.

Improved Blogs

We greatly improved our blog, and we’re putting out some interesting content that we’d love for you to check out! Take a look here.

There’s much more to explore at https://purpleair.com. This is an overhaul to the platform, and we encourage you to take a look around. We’re happy to answer any questions that pop up as we work to update our community resources to reflect these changes.

In the new status page for the sensor, it would be useful to include info in the Hardware section about the SD card, such as whether it has one, its size, and how much space is being used.
