Are any statistics available regarding the deployment of PurpleAir outdoor sensors ?
1). Total number of sensors worldwide, in U.S., by sate, by county ?
2). Rate of growth in sensors deployed per year ?
3). Any other descriptive stats RE: sensor deployment ?

We have a map service releasing soon that will allow you to find device numbers by country, state, county, etc. These are of course only publicly registered sensors; we can’t provide information regarding privately registered devices.
We don’t have any statistics regarding rate of growth in terms of sensors deployed per year. Although, once the map service is released, you will be more than welcome to track that information. We would be interested in receiving that data as well.

Thanks for reminding me! Yes, this tool was released with the map update last week. You can get sensor count using the ranking tool available at location.purpleair.com. There is a data layer available in the tool called “sensors count.”

If I am interpreting this info correctly, the air quality measurement formulas used by different countries produce vastly different descriptions of the same air quality. Is this interpretation correct ?
