After losing countless plastic zip ties to cold weather cracking, I tried out these metal zip ties today and they look like they’ll be perfect for my monitor installation needs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C6CWHYQ5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 . I found them basically impossible to backslide or break by hand. Really extraordinary. Even with tools, I had trouble clipping them, though eventually a rugged pair of scissors did the trick. I think it is worth field testing them (particularly in cold->hot->cold->hot temperatures), but my early exploration indicates that they will likely be very reliable and much more resilient than plastic zip ties. I would love to stop using plastic zip ties altogether and just use these instead. Has anybody tried using metal zip ties? I can imagine they might scratch a building/paint, but that can be remedied with a little rubber strip or tape. I’m eager to hear what the community has to say about these.
Always monitoring,
