Common culprits if PA pixel turns red in home?

I just received my PA Pixel and plugged it in. I was surprised that it turned red right away at each of the plugs in the house. Outside the front door it turned green, so I don’t think there is outside air causing the problem. Does anyone know of common culprits that would cause it to turn red inside. We do have forced air for heat, but it’s not on right now and the unit is still red.

Natural gas leakage is a notorious culprit. Do you use gas for cooking or heating?

Thanks for responding. No, we don’t use gas, but I am wondering if the change is related to cooking. I’ll keep an eye out.

Hi @greil

There are a number of things that can cause a rise in particulate levels indoors. Cooking, mentioned already, can cause elevated levels whether or not you’re using gas appliances. We have a short Q and A that might help you narrow it down: Indoor Sources of Particulate Matter (PM)
