Why is it called Purple?

Just curious where the name came from.

just a guess - somehow related to purple being the worst category of air quality

The name came about out of the desire to find a name that was easy to remember. You might think ‘it was a color, what color was it?’ and so your mind has a way to remember.

Then also no existing associations on Google - redair, blueair and others were either not available as domains or had lots of search results, but purpleair did not, so I chose that!
