Time Discrepancy Between PurpleAir Download Tool and Online Map Data: Seeking Solutions

Hello,

I use a PurpleAir sensor to measure air quality in Val-David. I’ve noticed a time discrepancy when downloading data using the PurpleAir download tool. The data seems to be about 5 hours off compared to the real-time data shown on the online map. I extract data from multiple sensors to perform hourly analyses, so it’s crucial for me to have accurate and synchronized data. The download tool’s data appears delayed, while the online map’s data seems more aligned with actual time. I’d like to know if other users have experienced this issue and how they resolved it. I’m looking for data from multiple sensors, so I want to ensure everything is accurate.

Thank you.

Hi @Philippe_Mayer

The map will show data in your device’s timezone, but the download tool will return data in UTC by default. Are you specifying your timezone when you download data?

Thank you for your response and for clarifying the issue regarding the time offset. It seems I made an oversight by not selecting the correct timezone in the data download tool. My apologies for the confusion, and I appreciate your help! I guess I’m just used to time settings being automatically synchronized with our devices. Thanks again!
