I’ve owned a PurpleAir Zen for a while. I also own a PurpleAir Pixel. I used to work for AEM/Earth Networks/Davis Instruments for 20 years (that ended in September, so I’m officially on the job hunt). I owned a few Davis AirLinks during that time to compare with the PurpleAir. Now that I’m no longer at AEM and don’t have any AirLinks, I’m “all in” with using my PurpleAir and recommending PurpleAir to other users (and if you ever need me on your team, just holler).
Here’s a handful of feedback I wanted to run by you on here:
- I don’t see an easy way to access historical data from the PurpleAir website. If there is, I’d love to know. If not, I’d love to see that implemented. I miss that feature from the AirLink.
- I like the graph on the PurpleAir map, but I’d also like to know the Daily High. I used that often from my AirLink.
- I’d love to see a dedicated mobile app with air quality alerts. Right now I’ve pinned the web app on my iPhone, but it is working decently. I’m also going to check out Paku.
- It would be fun if you could offer a mobile app that also supports the Pixel so I could take AQ readings on the go without using my laptop. Right now I just use my Pixel on the go with my notebook. I should find a way to plug it in somewhere in my office and use it see color-coded readings when not plugged into my notebook.
- I’ve registered my sensor with WUnderground, but it’s still not displaying on the map. It’s been months since I’ve registered it.
- I’d like to be able to click a tab on the map and see the PM breakdowns. if there’s a way to do this, let me know. If not, it’s another good feature request I had with my AirLink.
- I’ve noticed for the past couple of nights that PurpleAirs across Arkansas have been showing high readings. I don’t know why. The NWS isn’t sure either. Anything I can do to dig into what’s going on around here?
Thanks!
