Hello, I’m new here and I’m having a data problem. I have been downloading the data every 3 days for 3 years but when I open it, every file will be duplicated on several sensors and will have different data even if it is at the same time. The sensors’ names, for example:
AQSEAVN_001A / AQSEAVN_001B / AQSEAVN_001A / AQSEAVN_001B
the data for Pm2.5 concentrations are: 98 / 100 / 85 / 70 respectively
. So what should I do? I didn’t change anything. I tried to use the download tool, but when I downloaded it, I could only download the data for 2025.
Roark is correct, the A and B signify the two channels inside outdoor PurpleAir devices. You can average them to get a single value, which is what is done for map dots. More information is available here: What are Channel A and Channel B?
EDIT: Upon review, if you’re saying both the A and B channels returned data twice for the same time period, this was an issue in our system. It should be fixed now and shouldn’t happen moving forward.
Thank you for your reply. I understand that there is A and B for each station, and I realized that the columns are not duplicate data but are misnamed sensors while the data is from other sensors. For example, there is data from sensors 003A and 003B, but the remaining columns are still named 003A and 003B, while the data is completely different. I found out that it is data from other stations, but because I don’t know which one is from which station, I’m stuck in analyzing it.
