Pixel sensor

Hi all, the announcement of the Pixel sensor is really exciting! Finally an AQ sensor - the Bosch BMV080 - that could fit even in a phone or smartwatch. AQ measuring can now virtually enter every house of the planet.
I would suggest you create a further development of the pixel. Please add also an e-ink small screen that shows the PM2.5 in real time. A led light only still doesn’t make me feel that I am breathing safe air, even if it is green. Unless you already have in the Pixel the option of choosing which data layers to use, so that I can choose the WHO scale, which is the only one I trust in order to feel that I am breathing cleaner air. A green led following the WHO scale is surely safer than a green led from the US or EU standards!
But if you can convince Apple and collaborate with them to add the Bosch sensor to their phones, that would be the best move ever!
Cheers!
Andrea

Hi @CleanAirinGreece

Thank you for your suggestions! This is only the start for the Pixel, and there are certainly things we want to add.

Hi @Kieran
Does the PurpleAir Pixel have a battery in it or does it need to be plugged into the wall to work?

If it doesn’t can I please suggest this as an idea to add in the future?
Another suggestion, maybe add a little loop to the sensor so it can be carried around easily on like a lanyard, car keys or something else.

Thank You :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @AirFright

The Pixel does not include a battery, it powers via a USB-A connection. This is just the first iteration of the Pixel though, and there are certainly many features we would like to implement.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I am not sure if you are familiar with them, but something somewhat similar to the discontinued plume labs flow 2 or the atmo pro would be great as a purple air.
