Installing Purple Air Sensors in Schools

We are installing several purple air sensors in schools for an enhanced community air monitoring project. We have found that most schools have switched to 5 GHZ from 2.4 GHZ, so some schools are reluctant to install them on their internet systems. Do you have any experience and recommendations to make a proper installation and minimize risk to the existing internet system

Have them create a separate ‘guest’ type network used for IoT devices that only has outbound Internet access and no access to the school network. That should eliminate most of the risk, and make it easy to monitor for any misbehavior.
