In the wake of last year’s deadly heat dome, Oregon OSHA recently adopted the strictest workplace heat illness prevention rules in the U.S. The primary metric for implementing these rules is the Heat Index.
PurpleAir’s data layer already includes the Canadian-developed Humidex, but this uses a formula that produces results that are typically several “degrees” hotter than the U.S.-developed Heat Index—and OSHA uses Heat Index as its standard.
So, this is a request for the dev team to add Heat Index to the data layer so that we can then provide a widget to the Heat Index on our local sensor.
Thanks for a great product!
